Senior Staff Accountant 


The successful candidate will have an excellent grasp of accounting principles and financial operations across multiple business segments. The candidate selected for this position will be able to individually perform all the duties listed as well as train and manage staff in the various segments as business growth requires. The candidate who can handle a high volume of data from various sources and successfully interface with internal and external stake holders will be successful in the role.   

Role: 

  • Responsible for performing complex accounting needs for Custom Health. Duties include assuming a role to guide accounting personnel in daily tasks, reviewing financial data to make forecasting decisions and communicating with Sr. Manager and Executives about financial strategies.  
  • Other responsibilities include managing the accounting operations of the company's accounting department, reconciling accounts, and finalizing financial reports to discuss with the management.  
  • The Senior Staff Accountant also resolves account discrepancies, analyzes the company's financial status, and verifies financial transactions.  
  • The Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, conducting internal audits, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. 
Requirements

 Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or finance with an accounting minor), required.? 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a staff or senior accountant, preferably in a multi-company setting.  
  • 2+ years demonstrated success in leading an accounting team?required. 
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems, required.? 
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll processing and accounting via third party processors, required.  
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll processes desirable.  
  • Extensive experience in period end closing process.  
  • Ability to manage and own the accounts receivable process across multiple entities.  
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.  
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.  
  • Professional integrity, including ability to work with confidential information.  
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
