The compensation target range for this role is:

$113,900 - $134,000

Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer with Purple is responsible for providing CI/CD capabilities to several teams. They are responsible for orchestrating delivery, shepherding into production, and building automated tools to support this process.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Automate operational activities and tasks. 

  • Drive and execute complex projects 

  • Identify and solve complex technical challenges 

  • Lead and drive DevOps transformation initiatives with the organization 

  • Implement advanced security automation and DevSecOps practices 

  • Perform research on emerging technologies to support proofs-of-concept (POCs) and identify future solutions for the organization. 

  • Mentor and guide junior team members 

  • Implement advanced container security practices and container networking 

 

 

Required Skills, Education, Experience: 

 

  • 7+ years of related experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred 

  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud environments 

  • Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or ECS, including advanced deployment strategies, scaling, and management of microservices architectures 

  • Strong experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.  

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.  

  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Shell, or similar) to automate tasks and infrastructure management. 

  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and vulnerability management. 

  • Proficient in setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack. 

  • Experience designing and implementing complex CI/CD pipelines with multiple stages, parallelization, and advanced deployment strategies 

  • Experience implementing scalability and auto-scaling strategies for handling increased workloads 

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and lead projects. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure issues. 

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies. 

  • Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Step Functions). 

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) architectures.
