Role Summary:

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers while staying close to the technical work. This role requires a balance of people management and hands-on technical leadership, ensuring the team builds high-quality, scalable solutions while maintaining a strong engineering culture. You’ll mentor engineers, contribute to technical decisions, provide architectural guidance, and ensure the successful delivery of critical projects.

We look for leaders who foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning. You should have a strong technical foundation, experience solving complex engineering challenges, and a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

  • Stay involved in technical decision-making, providing architectural guidance, reviewing code, and helping to solve complex engineering challenges.

  • Work alongside engineers to refine system design, troubleshoot issues, and ensure scalability and maintainability.

  • Own team delivery, ensuring projects meet deadlines while upholding high technical and operational standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders to align engineering efforts with company goals.

  • Drive engineering excellence by maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, and system reliability.

  • Manage and improve engineering metrics such as velocity, delivery commitments, system performance, and deployment success.

  • Hire and retain top engineering talent, continuously developing the team’s skills and capabilities.

  • Support and advocate for engineers, helping to remove blockers and create an environment where they can do their best work.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a deep understanding of modern web application architecture.

  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience, with a track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams.

  • Strong problem-solving, coding, and debugging skills, with a history of delivering scalable and maintainable systems.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred), Kubernetes, and distributed systems.

  • Ability to effectively manage engineering processes, measure team success, and continuously improve performance.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for fostering an inclusive, innovative, and results-driven engineering culture.
