Job Description:

The Manager of Accounting position will focus on all aspects of technical and operational accounting associated with acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and other special projects as assigned.  Day-to-day interactions will involve working closely with the CHQ Controller, Controllers from each of the 4 segments, as well as the Corporate Strategy and Corporate Legal teams as it relates to accounting, integration, and separation activities for potential transactions. An ability to solve problems in a dynamic working environment and build relationships across teams is essential to this role. This position is an outstanding opportunity to support L3Harris strategic growth and operational performance initiatives, with broad exposure to a wide range of transaction-related accounting topics.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Technical research and documentation associated with potential transactions
  • Cross-functional project management & coordination efforts related to integrations and separations
  • Ownership for monthly & quarterly accounting for strategic investments
  • Technical analysis & documentaiton associated with product line sales across segments, application of ASC 606 & 610
  • Research and support held-for-sale conclusions and monthly/quarterly divestiture accounting
  • Management of gain/loss estimates and working capital settlement, including coordination with Corporate Strategy and Legal teams as needed to finalize purchase price for divested businesses
  • Annually, oversight for valuation and impairment considerations related to international financial statement filings under U.K. GAAP & IFRS
  • Quarterly, management and liason with external auditors and 3rd party valuation and accounting advisors as necessary
  • Minimal travel expectation (less than 10%)

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • 3-8 years in public accounting at a nationally recognized firm, or relevant Fortune 500 industry experience
  • Active, inactive or progression towards Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong technical and financial acumen (Familiarity and/or expertise in ASC 805, 810, 323, 321, 320, 350, 360, and 820 is a plus)
  • Previous experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry
  • Previous experience with accounting for M&A transactions

 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $86,000 - $159,500 For California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $98,500 - $182,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
