Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join a growing, boutique alternative investment management firm as a Director, Investment Accounting and Operations. This is an upper-middle management role that will lead the investment accounting for the firm's funds (shadow NAVs and reconciliations) and SPV investment entities (primary NAV and reconciliations), maintain the firm's investment infrastructure (brokerage accounts, etc.) and act as the firm's lead financial officer (accounting for the firm and managing payments). In addition, the candidate will act as liaison with certain of the firm's key stakeholders, including fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors and independent board directors.
Best suited to a candidate with an accounting degree, experience with leading the accounting or auditing of investment firm and/or investment fund/entity financial accounts is essential. Experience with investment fund operations would be highly advantageous.

Position Description
A new position, the Director of Investment Accounting and Operations will lead the accounting function for the firm and for the firm's investment entities, maintain the firm's investment operational infrastructure, leading the kyc/aml process with investors and on behalf of the firm and investment entities, and leading the investment reporting function.
Supporting this position is an Analyst (non-accountant) and various outsourced resources such as fund administrators for some of the investment entities and a comprehensive portfolio management, accounting and reporting system. It is expected that outsourced bookkeeping services may be contracted to support the accounting function of this role.
To support growth, a realignment of the firm's personnel is occurring, with this position reporting directly to the firm's President. Future advancement exists for this position to develop into either a CFO or COO role.
Candidate
This position requires an individual with strong time management skills due to the myriad of tasks. The volume of work is believed to be less than full-time at the moment, though the firm's growth will undoubtedly add to this in the future.
The ideal candidate likely has experience at a fund administrator, in-house at an investment management firm, or as an auditor of investment funds. Understanding of public and private investment accounting is essential.
