Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements with internal financial records on a regular basis.
  • Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing, including tracking employee hours, calculating wages, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure proper filing of business taxes and prepare documentation for annual tax filings, working with external accountants when necessary.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Data Entry & Documentation: Accurately input financial transactions into accounting software and maintain organized filing systems for financial documents.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with budget preparation, tracking financial performance against budgets, and providing recommendations for cost control.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of payroll processing and tax regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
